Monestir de PobletGeographical Situation

As a part of the big Ebro depression, this area is located North of Tarragona, bordering Lleida Province.

In physiographic terms, the area is a pit or depression (“conca” in Catalan), over whose wavy bottom Francolí River flows. Its eroding action has shaped a great amphitheatre delimited by Serres de Miramar, Bloc de Gaià, Tallat and Prades massif. The geographical and historical centre of the area is the ducal city of Montblanc.
