85 POINTS GUIDE PEÑÍN 2012 - ***** Excellent Qualification
The must is obtained after the processes of maceration and draining.
A slight quantity of alcohol is added at the beginning of fermentation so that natural sugars remain in the wine and also to enhance the grape aromas and those provided by fermentation. It is then stored in tanks for 2 or 3 years until it harmonizes its flavours acquiring a slight oxidation.
Noticeable are the tears this wine produces.
Orange coloration with golden edges.
To the nose, pleasant, sweet aroma of cooked apples. Intense sweet palate tasting like creamy jam with hints of tea, honey citric acids and spices.
It combines especially well with bakery desserts, bunyols, dry fruit, etc.
The vines are gathered under the seal of quality ‘Denominació d'Origen Empordà'.
They are located on the highest part of the Ampurdan plain, on the range foot, creeping up the hills and spurs of Serra de la Baga de Ferran and the near Serra de l'Albera.
