The second volume of the collection Beyond wine allows to go in depth into the winemaking territory of Conca de Barberà.
The authors say that this new volume may not be “as popular in the media as others but it’s full of human values, landscapes, history and tradition”. The book talks about a territory that kept alive one of the most prestigious Cistercian monasteries (transforming it into an icon of sustainable management) and where the first cooperative cellar was created through the personal view of its main figures (cellars, cooperatives, the Poblet Monastery).
Amongst other things, Beyond wine explains how the Breeding Groung of Cellars in Barberà de la Conca has kept alive the sense of tradition and the authenticity with the promotion of the singular variety trepat. In the book, the authors say that Conca de Barberà is “a winemaking territory with a magnificent past and a promising future because it has the strength of a present with spirit and freshness”.
The book can be found in different bookshops and in the cellars of the Designation of Origin Conca de Barberà.
