The capital of cava, Sant Sadurní, celebrates this weekend two big event for the world of cava.
Cavatast’s fair is celebrated from 4th to 6th October, and it’s the cava fair par excellence in Catalonia. This year it arrives to the 17th edition with a lot of activities; guided visits to the cellars of the enotouristic club Penedès, routes through the vineyards, visit to the Visitor Centre of Cava (CICFassina), dramatized routes through the city…
The journalist Marcel Gorgori will be in charge of the opening, and he will fuse his two passions, wine and music. The stands will be located in the Rambla de la Generalitat, and there you will enjoy cavas from the DO Cava and the best gastronomy from Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, with more than 40 cellars and about ten restaurants.
On the other hand, the Setmana del Cava is organized by the Cofradia del Cava de Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and it will take place from 5th to 13th October. The 32nd edition of this Setmana del Cava will have a cava masterclass organized by the young brothers, the 31st International Conference of Cava and the 7th Solidarity Run Country of Cava.
In addition, there will also be the coronation of the TV presenter Anna Simon as the Cava Queen 2013 and the investiture of the Roca brothers, directors of El Celler de Can Roca, as honour brothers.
