Could you please relate us the history of the cellar and your family?
We come from a lineage linked to the wine world, dating 1749, and we have always been dedicated to the viticulture and wine. The actual winery, dates from 1993 and the vineyard was planted 25 years ago, since the reviews of wine and a few years of practices.
How would you define the essence of a good wine?
A wine has to represent the land where it was born, and the wine that comes from the fermentation of the grape, that is, the wine has to be connected with the ground, both in terms of climate and edaphic. Our wines are aromatic and with structure. Fresh, the young ones; and the aged, soft on the palate.
What is your perception of the current offer of Catalan wines?
Very good and quite wide. We have different climates and lands, many varieties and, fortunately, the hand of the oenologist makes that a very good quality arises.
How do you see the introduction of new markets, such as China, in the world of wine? New markets always force the former producer to innovate, but it is not possible to reproduce the weather for everyone. China could buy all the wine we produce, but, fortunately, is not able to reproduce it as far as quality is concerned.
What is the role of wine tourism in the world of wine?
Wine tourism makes the dissemination of wine culture more human, and not only a bunch of advertisement. Talking face to face, maintaining physical contact is a very important tool, as well as a very nice experience.
